Meet FFAR's Casey Cook

We interviewed Casey Cook from Furry Friends Animal Rescue (FFAR) so that we could learn more about her and the amazing things that she does in our community!

Casey FFAR

  • Where are you originally from?  Mobile, Alabama
  • How long have you been in the area? I've been in Frisco since 2008 and in Texas since 2003.
  • Where did you/do you go to school?   University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee and SMU
  • How long have you been involved with FFAR and what is your role?  I have been involved with FFAR since July 2013.  I work adoptions, serve as secretary, and help recruit volunteers.
  • List your pets and names:  Tiffany is our 4-year-old grey tabby cat.  She will  go from jumping off the walls to snuggling in a minute's time and always keeps us entertained.  Sebastian, our sweet, laid-back 7-year-old kitty, passed away in July and we miss him everyday.  Rescue work helps heal the heart, though.
  • What kind of food do you feed your pets? Blue Wilderness dry and Royal Canin canned
  • What is your favorite movie?  Rear Window
  • What kind of music do you like? All kinds, but I've found there is nothing a little Elton John can't cure.
  • What was the last book that you read?  The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell
  • What is your favorite TV show?  Breaking Bad
  • Where  was your last vacation?  Mobile,  Alabama to visit my family and friends
  • What is your favorite restaurant? Spiral Diner
  • Describe your perfect sandwich:  The Mitch from Spiral Diner
  • If you could meet with anyone in the world, who would it be:  I could probably learn a thing or two from Jackson Galaxy.
  • Name your favorite sports team: Alabama Crimson Tide!
  • Are there any other personal facts or hobbies that you think might be interesting? Our volunteers are some of the most hard-working, dedicated people I have ever met.  I am so proud to say that we have adopted out over 250 cats and dogs in less than a year!
