Therapy Dogs Help Cancer Patients

Patients undergoing radiation treatment and chemotherapy for cancer tended to have better emotional and social well-being when they interacted with therapy dogs prior to their
treatments, according to a study in the Journal of Community and Supportive Oncology.
The side effects of treatment were serious, but at least one patient who might
otherwise have stopped the treatment kept coming for the dog, according to one
