Canine semen collection and evaluation is an easily performed test that provides important information for any stud dog.  We recommend semen testing any new stud dog intended to be used for breeding, or when an established stud dog is having a decreased conception rate.  The semen is evaluated for total sperm numbers, total motility and progressive motility.  A morphology is always performed to evaluate the structure of the sperm, as many sperm abnormalities will have an impact on fertility.
